Role Overview: Bookkeeping Advisor

As a Bookkeeping Advisor (internal title: Team Lead, Bookkeeping), you will balance expert bookkeeping work with meaningful, ongoing relationships with our Pros. You will use your deep expertise in

bookkeeping to help small business owners understand their financial statements and maintain confidence in their business health.

You will oversee ongoing bookkeeping tasks, ensure accurate month-end reconciliation, and provide proactive communication. As a member of our Accounting Solutions team, you will contribute to an entrepreneurial, client-focused environment dedicated to making accounting pain-free, while gaining exposure to cross-functional work with Tax, Payroll, and other divisions.

What You Do Each Day:

• Client Success: Ensure your portfolio of Pros receives world-class service through consistent, proactive communication and clear financial explanations.
• Collaboration: Partner closely with bookkeepers supporting your accounts, providing guidance to keep work moving efficiently, accurately, and on schedule.
• Delivery: Meet all month-end service delivery deadlines, including reviewing, verifying, and delivering completed and reconciled books.
• Expert Support: Draw upon your expertise to resolve client questions regarding financial errors, chart of accounts cleanup, sales tax, unresolved A/P and A/R, and merchant services.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 3+ years of
  
  bookkeeping/accounting experience with an in-depth understanding of SMB accounting methods (including financial statement preparation, month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations).
• Leadership: 1+ year of experience leading or mentoring others.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent certification/experience (such as QBO ProAdvisor).
• Client-Facing Skills: Proven experience providing bookkeeping guidance directly to clients, resolving issues, and explaining complex data to non-accountants.
• Tech-Savvy: Experience using AI tools to increase quality and efficiency of work.

• Strong written and verbal communication with an eye for accuracy and detail.
• A self-starter mentality and strong problem-solving skills.
• Interest or experience in home service business trades is a plus.

Location & Compensation

• Expected Salary Range: $ 3 0, 4 0 0 - $ 3 8, 0 0 0 USD/year.
• The specific rate will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
