What you’ll be doing:

 

The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the accounting for multiple ledgers across domestic and other LATAM locations. This role requires an individual with demonstrated experience of identifying and driving improvements to the quality and efficiency of operational accounting processes. Technical accounting knowledge and a track record of successfully managing teams, and working effectively across functional groups is essential.

 

 

What you’ll bring to us:

 

  • Manage the month-end and quarter-end close process ensuring that the reported results are accurate and complete. Supervise four to five accounting professionals working closely with other accounting teams and cross functional peers in finance, tax, procurement and operations.
  • Review and approve account reconciliations. Analyze general ledger accounts to ensure compliance with US GAAP. Assess accounting processes to identify opportunities to improve the quality and timeliness of the monthly close process. Coach team members to improve the quality of their account reconciliations in terms of clarity and analytical integrity.
  • Manage the preparation of schedules used in compiling quarterly and annual financial statements. Collaborate with the financial reporting team in the preparation of financial statements filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and with information disclosed in earnings releases. Work with finance to prepare reports used by executive management.
  • Develop and implement (as necessary), and maintain internal accounting controls to ensure the company’s compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  • Manage the preparation of external auditor schedule requests for the company’s integrated US GAAP audit and quarterly reviews. Coordinate the activities of the team to ensure efficient use of the audit staff. Ensure the information provided is accurate, timely and addresses the requirements established by the audit requests.
  • Facilitate the statutory reporting process. Work directly with the financial reporting team to ensure information is provided in a timely manner to meet financial reporting deadlines. Work closely with external auditors to resolve issues related to statutory financial statement filings.
  • Keep current on changes in US GAAP and the convergence of US GAAP with International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”). Work closely with the technical accounting team and IFRS implementation team to identify changes in policies and procedures necessary for successful conversion to IFRS standards.
  • Coordinate and assist with the resolution of accounting issues. Provide technical accounting support on transactions and accounting issues as necessary. Experience with global accounting - including the application of ASC 830 (FAS 52) for foreign currency translation activities is required.

 

What skills you’ll need:

 

  • 10+ years of public accounting and industry experience preferred, with international accounting issues experience a plus
  • BA/BS in accounting, or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge of local and US GAAP required, including foreign currency translation
  • Advanced knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley requirements and documentation
  • Advanced knowledge of Oracle Financials ERP system preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of Hyperion and Noetix a plus
  • Knowledge of IFRS preferred
  • Licensed CPA, or equivalent is a plus
