Senior Civil Structural Designer // Diseñador experimentado - civil estructural

Location: Mexico City, DF (Mexico)

Vista Projects (Vista) is a full-service engineering and procurement (EP) company serving Western Canada’s oil sands and conventional oil and gas producers. Recognized as one of Canada’s top employers, Vista specializes in sustaining capital, small to mid-size thermal heavy oil (SAGD,CSS), and enhanced oil recovery projects.

Vista is establishing a Mexico City office in 2012 to augment existing Canadian EP operations before expanding service to additional markets globally. Vista isseeking talented, entrepreneurial, and technically skilled candidates to drive strategic expansion into Mexico.

This role will be based out of the Mexico City office,with several weeks of training taking place in the Calgary office. The cost of stay in Calgary for this training will be covered by Vista. Occasional travel between Calgary and Mexico City may be required.

Main Duties and Competencies:

• Generate 3D models based on design sketches for steel/concrete structures and buildings
• Assist in preparation of IFC drawings along with Construction Work Package
• Complete design calculation of complex structural engineering including the steel structure design, concrete structuredesign, steel buildings, piling and foundation design, and related elementdesign
• Prepare or assist in preparation of the cost estimates for the Civil/Structural bids and proposal work
• Provide support to team members and quality assurance of their work

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in Civil/Structural Design in Oil and Gas EPC
• Engineering design and drafting diploma or equivalent
• Experience in 3D modeling programs (SmartPlant, PDMS, and ProSteel)
• Modularization, construction and field experience is an asset
• Proficient English communication skills
