The Manager Supplier Management & Procurement position negotiates best-in-class compensation arrangements with Mexico and LA/C preferred supplier accounts, consistent with the objectives of American Express Travel's supplier economic model, which is to implement, institutionalize and evolve a business model that drives dependable premium compensation for the unique value American Express Travel Network (wholly owned and franchisees) delivers to preferred airline, hotel, car, tour & cruise suppliers.
The position is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing globally coordinated preferred supplier business plans aligned with Amex and Supplier mutual business objectives, and delivering on/exceeding internal P&L financial expectations in a highly dynamic supplier market environment.
The successful candidate must be able to exert leverage with preferred suppliers to accomplish strategic initiatives that strengthen Amex’s Travel distribution intermediary position, improve its external customer value proposition and increase profit margins. Examples include enhancing Travel’s customer value programs, and developing new supplier revenue opportunities through evolving industry business strategies.
Key functional responsibilities: personal accountability for relationship management and revenue maximization of key preferred supplier accounts, as well as leadership, coaching and development of a small professional services team charged with similar accountability for other preferred suppliers.

-Strong understanding of the travel industry, evolving online and offline supplier distribution strategies, and related technologies being used to drive new revenue potential.
