Journalist/Editor & Market Analyst

New Energy Connections is seeking a Market Analyst & Journalist/Editor to manage research and editorial processes for the production of its annual publications on the Mexican energy sector, Mexico Oil & Gas Review and Mexico Renewable Energy Review.

We are looking for a passionate team player with excellent English and Spanish language skills, strong presentation and communication skills, sound commercial awareness and the drive to improve overall performance on a daily basis. We have no interest in micro-managing, therefore the ideal candidate will be self-motivated, pro-active, and is looking for a broad set of responsibilities and new challenges.

Responsibilities

• Analyse the main topics in the Mexican oil and gas as well as renewable energy industries
• Prepare and conduct interviews with the key stakeholders in both industries
• Prepare transcriptions of interviews, based on recordings, which serve as the basis of our editorial
• Write and edit articles for Mexico Oil & Gas Review and Mexico Renewable Energy Review in accordance with our high quality journalism standards
• Participate in our social media strategy, develop our social media presence, and expand the thought leadership position of our twitter accounts
• Respecting deadlines

Education, experience and skills

• Perfect command of Spanish and English
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Strong analytical, editing and writing skills, and the ability to synthesize
• Ability to juggle numerous projects while paying strong attention to details and deadlines
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced cross-functional team environment
• Experience in a B2B communication and business development is a plus
• Keen interest and knowledge of oil and gas and renewable energy industries, as well as the geopolitics of energy, is a big plus
