Responsibilities Play a key role in the analysis, review and controllership of GE Transportation's financial reporting. Present controllership strategy, objectives, projects, and findings to Mx MF, Global Controller and CFO. Identify new accounting standards applicable to the business and develops appropriate implementation strategy (strong technical GAAP accounting skills). Use business experience and GAAP expertise to ensure reasonableness of Balance Sheet variances and finance- business metrics. Champion Sarbanes-Oxley initiatives; ensure testing plans are completed on timely basis, including guidance on process improvement and control remediation* Work effectively with business leaders to proactively drive key initiatives to successful conclusion. Establish accounting processes with an strong understanding in internal controls (SOX initiatives). Lead local finance team during quarterly and year-end close process, partnering and working effectively with finance leaders and proactively drive key initiatives to successful conclusion. Perform Stat to GAAP reconciliation and responsible for statutory audit. Prepare forecast and performe hedging contracts on FX on a monthly basis. Strong problem solving/analytical skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team environment (ability to manage multiple priorities). Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel in the Controller's Office in Mx, this individual recommends training requirements & has the duty to keep the staff at the highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs. Responsible for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes. Random audits on customs compliance. Furnishes internal reports (DR's), revises, standardizes and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related major. Able to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel, including senior management and non-financial staff in English. 5+ years of experience in financial management. Previous experience with managing a staff. PC proficiency. Career progression must be visible on resume. Desired CPA certification preferred. Experience in Controller position.
