General Description:
A Dell Field Engineer is a regionally based systems expert that is a critical part of Dell's enterprise services team. He/she is responsible for on-site installation, implementation, maintenance and repair of Dell|EMC Storage Area Networks, Dell PowerVault Storage and Dell PowerEdge solutions.
Performs troubleshooting for escalated issues, conducts deployments and upgrades for heterogeneous or complex environments, and performs preventative maintenance services. Understands and communicates technical and business issues with customer, account team and other internal partners.
Operates comfortably in high availability or mission critical environments (those where system outage causes irrevocable business loss for the customer.), often multi-vendor with a variety of SW and operating systems. Travel is generally within Mexico but can be all LatinAmerica Region as needed. Fluent in English and Spanish is a must. Require travel 75% of the time
* Perform troubleshooting and repair in escalated or critical situations
* Perform heterogeneous or complex SAN deployments
* Perform health check and maintenance services for SAN environments
* Install and troubleshoot MS clusters and advanced SAN software
* Perform backup production readiness installations (TBU and backup software)
* Perform sustaining install activities including DAE or host adds and SAN upgrades
* Provide leadership during difficult customer situations
* Develop and maintain positive, long-standing customer relationships built on trust
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
* Perform troubleshooting and repair in escalated or critical situations
* Perform heterogeneous or complex SAN deployments
* Perform health check and maintenance services for SAN environments
* Install and troubleshoot MS clusters and advanced SAN software
* Perform backup production readiness installations (TBU and backup software)
* Perform sustaining install activities including DAE or host adds and SAN upgrades
* Provide leadership during difficult customer situations
* Develop and maintain positive, long-standing customer relationships built on trust
Qualifications
* 4+ years of related industry experience.
* Advanced Windows certification (MCSE) or other full OS certification required.
* Experience in Windows, Linux: Redhat and Suse, and Non-Windows environments preferred.
* Experience with Oracle, Veritas and backup solutions, and Microsoft application enviroment. VMware desired
* Must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English and Spanish.
* Demonstrated ability to work with little supervision or guidance
