Responsibilities

*Report directly to VP & Chief Risk Officer - Commercial Risk.

*Manage all aspects of the Commercial Credit Risk Process, including utilization of proper underwriting standards, risk rating of clients, establishing adequate loan reserves and ongoing risk assessment of a $1.6B commercial portfolio

*Manage staff of Underwriting Team Leaders or Sr. responsible for the credit underwriting process, with 20+ people under

*Guide appetite for new or incremental exposure in industry segments, clients and deals within a framework of clearly defined risk assessment

*Maintain awareness of external factors and their impact on client viability and quality of the commercial portfolio

*Credit Risk Memorandum review /preparation: key responsibility is to review and prepare as needed CRMs for submission to Colpatria's Joint Venture Credit Committee and GE for HQ or corporate approval, with focus on Ensuring the CRM has been thoroughly underwritten oRisk issue identification and mitigation oProper assignment of GELE ratings that reflect risk assessment.oCRM has been fully vetted for legal, operational, IT, etc issues oMake approval recommendations to senior management

*Apply JV approved Credit Delegation Limits, Policy 5.0, while leading deals through the Credit Risk Assessment process. If required, includes: Exercise lending authority to approve deals up to delegated limits Coordinate weekly CredCommittee processo

*Manage the post-approval risk management process at client level, including Policy 6.0 reviews, covenant compliance monitoring, annual reviews

*Ensure quick adoption of GE's standard CRM presentation techniques, leveraging usage of CRM templates and other appropriate tools

*Act as the JV point person for presentation of CRMs and resolution of overall underwriting issues. Act as the liaison to the business units and fully leverage best practice sharing

Qualifications

* Underwriting experience: ability to prepare & present analysis in a clear, succinct manner, focusing discussion on critical issues - ability to apply risk methodologies, including loss forecasting, reserving requirements, underwriting methodologies and standards to a potential business opportunity.* Independent Analysis: independent thinker, with keen analytical mind, judgment and self-confidence, able to raise critical issues and stand up to pressure from other business areas in defending the integrity of UW position and the fulfillment of his/her job responsibilities. * Overall business acumen: ability to apply strategic risk thinking to a proposal with respect to the risk/reward balance (deal structure, pricing, economic considerations, sensitivities, etc)* CRM writing expertise: ability to draft and present a pitch and Deal Memo with highest standards to Colpatria's Credit Committee, GE Management and JV BOD. Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint is a plus. * Prior experience and demonstrated success in working effectively with disparate teams. Has expertise in representing a wide range of risk products, markets, and technical levels, to ensure critical analysis has been completed - requires the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization* Mastery of English and Spanish language, both oral and written with great familiarity in accounting, financial and business terminology. * You must submit your application for employment through COS to be considered.* You must be 18 years or older* You must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process* You must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process* If you are a GE Employee, you must have been in your current position for at least 18 months and have at least a satisfactory performance rating (eg, Highly Valued)
