Responsibilities

*Perform design calculation improvements related to assigned tasks

*Work out design changes on parts or assemblies resulting from new requirements, changed concepts, test, manufacture or service requirements

*Determine and establish specifications through engineering calculations and layouts

*Prepare or follow up on preparation of required drawings and engineering changes

*Assist in and/or perform the testing of product/components, results analysis and conclusions

*Maintain engineering records and files for future availability

*Prepare and/or approve preliminary material list, test and assembly procedures and data packages.

*Consult and coordinate activities with Engineer team and other departments to determine design requirements, maintain project schedules and resolve problems

*Must be available and willing to travel to such locations as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs

*Perform other related duties as assigned or indicated by responsibilities



Qualifications

*Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5 years experience in oil field related design (Experience in lieu of degree is acceptable)

*Knowledge of all applicable codes and standards (API, ASME, NACE)

*Understand general material and coating types, and basic understanding of NDE techniques

*MS Office applications, AutoCAD, Pro/E, and design


Desired

*Additional experience designing and implementing new products using the NPI process is preferred

*An understanding of Six Sigma tools to make data-based recommendations and decisions

*Ability to work in a team environment on short and long term projects

*Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing preferred

*Knowledge of SWE and FCE Equipment and Connectors preferred

*Field experience preferred
