Responsibilities

Responsible for identification and execution of Product Cost Take Out (PCTO) projects in areas such as material and labor productivity.

Manage elements of technology-driven PCTO programs in a multi-functional environment, working closely with manufacturing and commercial teams, in North and South America, and in Asia.

Drive cost take-out and growth through innovative and creative thinking.

Develop design-based cost out solutions including standardization and optimization of components and products.

Coordinate design development and product qualification test plans with global teams.

Ensure that all product design changes adhere to quality and reliability requirements, and ensure that proper change control processes are followed in the approval process.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Motor design and development experience

Six Sigma green belt certified

Project leadership; Demonstrated ability to develop and meet schedules, financial goals, and commercial requirements.

Working knowledge of New Product Introduction Process and Change control processes, Design For Six Sigma, and Design For Reliability.

Demonstrated initiative, drive, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to communicate effectively across organizational lines.

Proven and sustained accomplishment in a design or manufacturing role.

Advanced degree

EEDP/OMLP graduate

Motor design experience - either Industrial motors, DC motors, or Appliance motors

Working knowledge of GE C-change and CIB process

Reliability practitioner

Motors industry experience

Motors technology experience

Experience with multiple product lines

This position will be located in one of the GE Consumer and Industrial's sites. Final location will be determined based on applicant's qualifications and needs of the business. Position will require significant interaction with global teams, which necessitates periodic evening conference calls.
