Responsibilities

*Negotiate purchase transactions and place orders and contracts at terms favorable to the company, considering price, quality standards and delivery

*Follow up to ensure on time delivery requirements are met for manufacturing needs

*Maintain, review and update files, records and other internal control systems consisting of past or present transaction including requisitions, outstanding or closed purchase orders and approved invoices

*Apply Six Sigma tools to leverage total cost of ownership

*Collaborate with requesting departments to resolve problems relating to requirements, deviations, substitutions, priorities, delays, damages, inferior quality or other conditions that deviate from established procedures

*Maintain current market knowledge and changing material conditions and advises management of current trends in prices and purchasing availability. Notify supervisor of unusual conditions

*Participate in global commodity team activity

*Communicate with suppliers to expedite receipt of orders/back orders

*Drive sourcing initiatives on savings, supplier

Qualifications

*Bachelor's Degree (in Business or Technical discipline preferred) or at least 3 years of relevant industry experience)

*Minimum 1 year of commercial experience

*Knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel, Purchasing /MRP related software

*Fluent in English and Spanish
