Summary:
The Junior Project/Program Manager provides end-to-end support to Project/Program Managers for projects that are of importance to Lucent and are considered to be of low to mid-level risk. Responsibilities may include: report analysis, material scheduling and production, budget management, coordinating new work development, acting as point of contact for escalated problems and acting as point of contact for Customer. This position also supports project milestones, and develops, produces and analyzes project and financial reports, schedules, and contracts. 

 Major Activities:

·         Analyze project reports to assure project milestones/costs are being met.

·         Establish and maintain effective communication with Project Team.

•·         Provide support during Pre-sales phase, identifying risks, opportunities, scopes and planning future project

·         Develop schedules, identify any issues and develop strategies to resolve them.

·         Analyze financial reports and bills on an on-going basis in an effort to track costs.

·         Oversee adherence to existing processes and procedures.

·         Assist Project/Program Managers with customer relations and negotiations.

·         Develop methodologies to support effective planning and controlling activities for projects/programs.

·         Provide support to Project/Program Managers on several projects of mid-level complexity typically with routine EF&I responsibilities, multiple locations and some ownership of other vendors.

•·         Establish and maintain effective relationship with Customer as unique contact point during implementation phase

·         Create specific routines and processes tailored to meet the needs of the project.

·         Support Project Managers with larger contracts/projects by overseeing and reporting contractual compliance in areas such as Billing, Finance, Customer Liaison, Logistics, etc.

 Challenges:
The Junior Project/Program Manager must possess a solid understanding of the project, customer needs, logistics, finances and team members to ensure that all goals within the project cycle are met.

 Knowledge, Experience & Competency:
This position requires 3 to 5 years project management experience with an educational minimum of a Bachelor's degree. Project Management certification is preferred and Project Management Professional certification is a plus. Familiarity with Lucent policies and practices is necessary. Must be computer literate with demonstrated presentation skills, budget skills, analytical ability and logistics management experience. Effective oral and written communication skills are also required.

The incumbent should effectively interact with all levels of management with key relevant functions in the Company and with external clients.
