Responsibilities

Provide pro-active Environmental, Health & Safety leadership for the GEMSR facility and interact successfully at all levels of the Company. Develop and implement Environmental, Health & Safety management systems that include:

* Lead GE Health and Safety Framework Elements, Work Plans, Employee Safety Teams.

* Responsible for maintaining compliance with federal, state and local Environmental, Health & Safety regulations.

* Effectively manage and drive awareness of Environmental, Health & Safety programs, resources and budget.

* Conduct on-going analysis of injury and illness data and achieve continuous reduction of injuries, illnesses and lost-time cases.

* Use Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to continually improve EHS processes and reduce EHS compliance costs.

* Conduct site employee EHS training and compliance audits.

* Exhibit outstanding leadership and effectively communicate and influence employees and managers to maximize site performance in meeting GE EHS goals.

* Responsible for Disability Management and Medical department for site.

* Key contact for facility security team and management of contractors.

* Apply ergonomic principles to improve workstations and minimize injuries.

* Drive facility to maintain OSHA VPP Star Certification and industria limpia.



Qualifications

* BS or BA in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety or related field.

* Demonstrated ability to lead process implementation in a team environment and balance multiple priorities.

* Proven track record in injury prevention/control and incident rate reduction.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

* Strong project management and communication skills.

*Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA compliance and interpretation of regulatory standards.

* Technical expertise in a range of EHS disciplines and experience in managing Safety and EHS projects.

* Effective computer/web skills needed for use of current EHS electronic tools.

* Excellent Interpersonal skills.

* Team building experience and skills.

* Effective oral and written communication skills.

* Strong analytical skills including the ability to identify critical issues and develop strategic plans.

* Self-directed, highly detail oriented, organized, and flexible.


Desired

* MS degree in EHS and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).

* Manufacturing/Operations experience.

* Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certified.

* Minimum 3 years experience leading Environmental, Health & Safety programs.

* Ability to work in a matrix environment.

* Certified Safety Professional or meeting the prerequisites for certification.
