The Technical Business Analyst is a senior-level position in a software development team designing and developing large-scale high-availability multi-tier transactional systems. We are seeking qualified Java architect/designer(s) with a strong background in database and broad knowledge of software engineering concepts, technologies, and practices. Incumbents are competent to work on fairly complex assignments (and/or portions of more large, complex systems) and perform a full range of technical system analysis activities. Provides technical expertise to formulate computer system scope and objectives, and prepares develops architecture and detailed specifications from which programs are written, tested, debugged and documented. Assignments are in technical and business functional areas. In addition, the Technical Business Analyst will be part of a shared support team that is responsible for steady state support of client implementations. This Analyst works closely with project managers, business users, and software development team. Education and Typical Years of Experience:Bachelorâ€^TMs degree in computer science or related field required; M.S. in computer science is preferred.

Prior Experience:
Industry Experience - Experience or involvement with HR business applications is preferred, but not required. Equivalent educational experience may be substituted for this requirement.

Work Experience â€" 5 -7 years of progressively responsible technical experience working in an application development IT environment, requires at least 5 years of industry working experience designing and implementing database driven multi-tier applications along with a demonstrated ability to deliver end user products on time.

Technologies â€" Previous experience in application design and/or maintenance required. Candidate must have strong skills using Microsoft products including Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and must be familiar with MS Project. Working knowledge of Visio. Familiarity with systems life cycle methodology, CMMI preferrable. Minimum of 5 years working experience with Java/J2EE programming. Strong knowledge in object oriented design and modular software architecture. Strong experience in database design, programming, SQL, and performance tuning (Oracle preferred). Extensive experience with database driven multi-tier web application development . Experience with scalability and performance issues in a large volume highly concurrent system.

Time Management â€" Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment is required. Candidate must be flexible, well organized and able to work well under pressure. Candidate must work well without close supervision. Experience with high levels of accountability, demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and ability to manage workload and achieve results with minimal supervision.

Communication Skills â€" Candidate must demonstrate excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Candidate must have a professional demeanor and present a positive image when working with a client team. The ability to engage virtual teams on complex issues strong facilitation, interpersonal and customer skills are needed to interact with client management groups as well as the ability to apply analysis, definition, and documentation for business, system and data processes demonstrating clarity.
