Engineer and support Legato NetWorker backup infrastructure consisting of ~1000 UNIX and Windows servers.

Responsible for advanced troubleshooting of backup and recovery related issues.

Responsible for capacity planning and performance analysis of backup and recovery infrastructure

Consults with end users to coordinate scheduling of backups and address other backup and recovery concerns.

Responsible for strategic planning related to ongoing enhancement of a large backup and recovery environment.

Ideal candidate will serve as team lead and provide guidance and assist in the training of less experienced staff.

Develop and maintain detailed documentation.

Maintain expert level industry/technical knowledge base and facilitates/maintains industry relationships. Education and Typical Years of Experience:Minimum 5-7 years of progressively responsible related technical experience.

+5 years UNIX system administration experience (Solaris and/or HPUX). +5 years experience with one of the major backup software packages (Legato NetWorker, Veritas, TSM) required; Legato NetWorker experience is preferred. Specific Requirements:Extensive experience supporting enterprise caliber tape libraries and tape drive technology; familiarity working in large SAN environment; perl and/or shell scripting; experience engineering/supporting backup-to-disk solutions desired; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
